Community Dental Clinic

Extent: Jersey
Updated: 10 June 2019
---------------------------------------------------

Children

1. The clinic treats children up to the age of 11 for both treatment and regular check-ups. Children between the age of 11 and 18 (or 21 if in full-time education) can use the Jersey Dental Fitness Scheme provided the family income falls within the proscribed limits.

People with special needs

2. The clinic treats those with special needs who cannot be seen at the surgeries of private dentists.

Specialised treatment

3. Those who require specialised treatment, including oral and facial surgery following accidents or illness, are treated at the clinic. It also caters for those over 11, still in full-time education requiring braces or restorative work.

Outreach work

4. Dentists can visit Overdale, Sandybrook and nursing homes in order to treat those who are unable to travel to the clinic.  However, they must have a referral from a private GP or Dental Practitioner.

Contact

5. Newgate Street (opposite Gwyneth Huelin Wing of General Hospital). Wheelchair access.

Telephone 445300

For all other dental matters, see 10.7.4.L10

Children will have to be registered for six months prior to being eligible for the scheme.
