Prostitution - Prostitution is when someone offers their body for sexual purposes for money or reward.

Customary law - this is the Jersey equivalent of what is called common law in the UK. It is law that is developed in the courts, rather than law that has been made by government.

Offence - when you commit an offence, you are breaking the law and may be punished




Prostitution is an offence against the customary law of Jersey.


There are also various offences created by statute concerning encouraging or organising prostitution, and/or preventing living off earnings from prostitution.
