Personal Injury - an actionable injury to an individual person, whether involving physical contact or not and whether fatal or not, but causing pain, discomfort, or injury

Actionable - giving a cause for legal action. It is often referred to as suing someone

English classes for Portuguese residents


English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses are provided by Highlands College, which is the largest provider of courses in Jersey. Courses are held at Highlands College and at the Welcome Centre, St Thomas' Church, Val Plaisant, St Helier. Contact: Manuela Milsom at Highlands College, Tel: 608670.


Tremoceiro Advocates -Portuguese Legal Clinic

Advocate Rui Tremoceiro offers free legal advice on general legal topics, for Portuguese speaking nationals. This is an interview to establish what the problem is and no follow up appointments will be offered. If you need to have further advice you will have to decide if you want to use the legal services of Tremoceiro Advocates privately.  For this you will have to pay and you should ask what the costs might be before going ahead.
