Motor Neurone Disease

Updated 22 January 2019

Motor Neurone Disease is a neurological condition that affects the nerves controlling voluntary movements, so that the muscles weaken and people become progressively less able to look after themselves.

It normally affects people over the age of fifty but the younger age group can be affected.

The Jersey branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association gives support, advice, help with equipment and raising funds for research.
