Year-round bus services are operated by LibertyBus on behalf of the States of Jersey. All buses leave town from Liberation Station, St Helier and all vehicles have easy access for wheelchair users.

Services are increased during peak season, between Easter and late September. More information about bus services and timetables is available on the LibertyBus website.

The school bus scheme

1.  The Department of Infrastructure subsidise and co-ordinate a school bus service, operated by LibertyBus, for secondary schools see

Senior Citizen Concessionary Bus Pass

2. Senior citizens of pensionable age living in Jersey are entitled to a concessionary travel pass.

This allows free travel on Jersey's bus services.


If you meet either of the following conditions then you are eligible to receive a concessionary travel pass:

•permanently resident in Jersey and aged 65 or over, or

•permanently resident in Jersey, aged under 65, and in possession of a Jersey Social Security pension card

All applicants are required to show proof of residence.  Applicants aged 65 or over, and not in possession of a Jersey Social Security pension card, are also required to produce their birth certificate.

Application forms for concessionary travel passes are available from parish halls or at Liberation Station.


Where your concessionary travel pass can be used

The concessionary pass is only valid for travel on Jersey bus services.


United Kingdom concessionary travel passes

UK concessionary passes are not valid for travel on Jersey bus services.


Ex-Jersey residents

Jersey concessionary travel passes are only available to those who currently reside in Jersey.  New or replacement passes will not be issued by LibertyBus without proof of residency being shown.


Health Insurance Exception (HIE) travel passes

This scheme is now closed to new entrants. 

If you were a holder of a valid HIE travel pass on 27 January 2008, then you are entitled to apply for a re-issue. 

If you were a holder of an HIE travel pass in the past, but you allowed it to expire prior to 27 January 2008 and did not renew it, then you are not entitled to apply for a re-issue.​​

One return route. Seven days a week, mid-morning to mid-afternoon.

  • Discover historic St Helier. Start from Liberation Square. Journey 35 minutes each way. £8.50 adult return, £3.50 child 12 years and under (under 5s go free). Adult single: £5.  Child single: £2.50.
